A UFO was pictured hovering above the skies of Portsmouth on Friday, prompting a flurry of speculation on Twitter about its identity.
Met Office experts categorically ruled out that the dark, saucer-shaped object was a cloud.
And since then social media has been awash with speculations, especially after locals said they had seen it “moving very fast.”
Lewis Rogers, 26, saw it when he was visiting a friend in the city and quickly took a picture.
The animation director said: “My initial thought was it was an airplane but it was just moving too quickly.
