A team of soldiers is in the United Arab Emirates awaiting orders to travel to the north of Iraq to advise, assist and train the local Iraqi defense forces.
“Our forces are ready to go. We are finalising the legal documentation,” the Prime Minister told reporters in Canberra.
Mr Abbott said he hoped those legal barriers could be overcome “very quickly”.
