Moscow denies sending troops to Ukraine
The United States has accused Russia of undermining a ceasefire and called a meeting of the UN Security Council after NATO said Russia was sending troops to Ukraine. Moscow denied the allegations as propaganda. Anya Ardayeva reports from the Russian capital.
Obama to announce 10-point immigration plan via exec action as early as next week
Fox news says President Obama is planning to unveil a 10-part plan for overhauling U.S. immigration policy via executive action — including suspending deportations for millions — as early as next Friday. The president’s plans were contained in a draft proposal from a U.S. government agency. The Fox News source said the plan could be announced as early as Nov. 21.
Keystone pipeline approval bills advance in Congress
Legislation to approve the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline began racing through the U.S. Congress yesterday, as Democrats and Republicans appeared to be coming together in a challenge of President Barack Obama's oversight of the project. In a series of rapid developments were indications the measure could pass and be sent to Obama sometime next week. Republicans, victorious in the Nov. 4 congressional elections in which they campaigned heavily on the need for Keystone, have been pushing for approval of the project amid objections from some Democrats.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s removal of about half of the Border Patrol’s supply of M4 carbine weapons underscores worries the Obama administration is disarming agents ahead of the president’s planned executive order granting amnesty to illegal aliens. Customs officials claim a large number of M4s were being taken from Border Patrol agents because the weapons were found to be unserviceable and posed safety concerns. Rep. Steve King, laughed, “There’s no more reliable weapon in the world,”
Comet landing probe now "stable"
The robot probe that successfully landed on a comet has stabilized and is transmitting data according the European Space Agency. The historic 10-year mission has captivated the entire world. Ira Spitzer reports from Berlin.
British woman jailed for trying to fund terrorism
A woman has been jailed in Britain after being convicted of trying to send cash to her jihadi husband in Syria. Amal El-Wahabi was sentenced to 28 months in prison for trying to send $16,000 to her husband in cash. He had traveled to Syria in July to join Islamic State extremists. The Judge said she knew her husband was engaged in violent extremism and the cash would be used for that purpose.
