Germany to issue extremist ID cards
Germany is putting Islamic extremists in a snare by issuing ID cards that forbid them from leaving the country for a 3-year period. More than 550 German citizens have traveled to Iraq and Syria to join the fighting there. Ira Spitzer has more from Berlin....
FRANCE ARRESTS 54 FOR DEFENDING TERROR; ANNOUNCES CRACKDOWN
France ordered prosecutors around the country to crack down on hate speech, anti-Semitism and glorifying terrorism - arresting 54 people for those offenses since terror attacks left 20 dead in Paris last week. The order came as Charlie Hebdo's defiant new issue sold out before dawn around Paris, with scuffles at kiosks over dwindling copies of the satirical newspaper that fronted the Prophet Muhammad anew on its cover.
US astronauts evacuate section of ISS after apparent leak
Astronauts aboard the International Space Station have been forced to evacuate their section of the orbiting laboratory after an apparent chemical leak. The US astronauts were forced to isolate their contaminated unit and hide in the Russian sector of the ISS, Russian space officials said, adding that there are no plans to evacuate the crew from the spacecraft. Anya Ardayeva repots from Moscow.
Wall St. falls on global demand worry
Stocks dropped at the open on Wall Street today, extending a three-day slide, as worries over weak economies globally continued to pressure commodities and as U.S. retail sales for December fell short of expectations.
WORLD BANK WARNS OVER GLOBAL GROWTH
The World Bank has cut its global growth forecast, predicting economic expansion of 3% this year and 3.3% next. That's lower than its June estimates of 3.4 and 3.5%. It does say, however, that lower oil prices will benefit some economies. Danny Cox of stockbroker Hargreaves Lansdown says the Bank is warning the global economy needs more than a strong US recovery....
Europeans rush to find copies of new "Charlie Hebdo"
Copies of the latest edition of the French magazine "Charlie Hebdo" are being snapped up in France and other parts of Europe. It's the first edition to go on sale since last week's attack on the magazine's office in Paris. The magazine features a cartoon on its cover depicting the Prophet Mohammed and three million copies have gone on sale in Europe, in contrast to the magazine's previous circulation of just sixty thousand. These commuters in London were hoping to find a copy on British news-stands....

He was hired in 1984 by the Christian Broadcasting Network as the first National Cable Marketing Manager for the new CBN Cable Network which later became the Family Channel. In 1995, Paul F. Crouch hired Rick as the Marketing Director for Trinity Broadcasting Network where Rick repositioned the TBN brand inside the cable industry – and played an important role in negotiating the early contracts to launch TBN on DirecTV, DISH, and the former PrimeStar DBS systems. Rick resigned from TBN in September 1998 after receiving a dramatic call from God to fulltime ministry.
