POLICE OFFICER DIES AFTER NEW PARIS SHOOTING

A police officer who was shot at a metro station to the south of the city - in a fresh attack in Paris this morning has died. The latest gunman is still at large. French police are still hunting two suspects in the Wednesday killing of 12 people at a satirical magazine in Paris. Police have made seven arrests of people thought to be connected to the two suspects, while a third suspect handed himself in. Our reporter Natalie Powell is in Paris and she says the country is observing a day of mourning...

 

UK STEPS UP SECURITY IN RESPONSE TO PARIS ATTACKS

The UK has stepped up security at ports and borders after the Paris shootings. British security officials are out in greater numbers at Calais and Gare du Nord in France - where there are UK border controls. But Downing Street insists there is no specific threat to the UK following the killings at Charlie Hebdo magazine. Britain's Home Secretary Theresa May chaired a meeting in response to the massacre in Paris....

Not wasting any time, new Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Barack Obama are getting ready for a political game of “chicken” over health care, an oil pipeline, immigration policy and financing of the agency that tries to protect the U.S. from terrorists. At the same time, both insist they are eager for compromise – as long as they don't “double dog dare”.

 

North Korea state media warns of war if US doesn't withdraw sanctions

North Korea has threatened war against the United States if it doesn't withdraw sanctions- that's according to the country's state media. The US authorized sanctions unilaterally against the isolationist regime last week, after US intelligence blamed Pyongyang for a hacking attack on Sony Pictures. Nina-Maria Potts reports:

Dangerously cold air has sent temperatures plummeting into the single digits around the U.S., with wind chills driving them even lower. Throw in the snow some areas are getting and you've got a bone chilling mix that may also be super messy. The result? About a million kids are out of school today, a fatal car pileup and worries about the homeless.

In 1980, he blazed a path as a pioneer in local cable television advertising when CNN and ESPN were new start-up channels on cable TV.  As a sales manager, he launched one of the first cable advertising interconnects in the nation.  He was hired in 1984 by the Christian Broadcasting Network as the first National Cable Marketing Manager for the new CBN Cable Network which later became the Family Channel.  In 1995, Paul F. Crouch hired Rick as the Marketing Director for Trinity Broadcasting Network where Rick repositioned the TBN brand inside the cable industry – and played an important role in negotiating the early contracts to launch TBN on DirecTV, DISH, and the former PrimeStar DBS systems.  Rick resigned from TBN in September 1998 after receiving a dramatic call from God to fulltime ministry.
