French satirical magazine targeted in terrorist attack.
12 people have been killed in a shooting at the Paris offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
Two armed men entered the building and opened fire.
Charlie Hebdo journalists who were at the scene have said they must have known the magazine held a weekly editorial meeting at that time - and they were looking for the newspaper's journalists by name.
Charlie Hebdo is a satirical newspaper that frequently takes aim at targets ranging from Muslims to the far right - as Elena Casas explains.
Car bomb kills more than 30 at Yemen police academy
A car bomb blasted through dozens of Yemenis lined up at a police academy Wednesday, killing more than 30 in the latest attack.
Official news agency Saba quoted the interior ministry as saying at least 31 people had died and dozens were wounded - in the "terrorist bombing" targeting potential police recruits.
Tail of missing AirAsia plane discovered in Java Sea
Divers spotted the tail of the AirAsia plane that crashed into the Java Sea - the first confirmed sighting of any major wreckage 11 days after Flight 8501 went down with 162 people on board. Powerful currents and murky water continue to hinder the operation, but searchers managed to get a photograph of the debris — almost 6 miles from where the plane lost contact.
Oil price dips below $50 as UK government presses industry
In the UK Oil prices have dipped below $50 a barrel for the first time in six years. The price of a barrel of Brent crude went as low as $49.92 in early trading Wednesday before rising back above the fifty dollar level.
The British government is challenging the country's businesses to lower prices as a result of falling energy costs. Here in the US – Prices are expected to raise above $48 a barrel.

Arctic air grips the Midwest
A biting cold is running across the Midwest - with numbing winds and temperatures expected to fall to near zero early Thursday.
Chicago Public Schools are closed because of the cold. With the frigid temperatures are now heading for the East Coast.

Crouch hired Rick as the Marketing Director for Trinity Broadcasting Network where Rick repositioned the TBN brand inside the cable industry – and played an important role in negotiating the early contracts to launch TBN on DirecTV, DISH, and the former PrimeStar DBS systems. Rick resigned from TBN in September 1998 after receiving a dramatic call from God to fulltime ministry.
